This year we are offering everyone a unique opportunity to participate in a Virtual Mission Trip by donating to a building project and/or partnering in prayer with the Omondi family.
How a Virtual Mission Trip Works:
By donating or signing up as a prayer partner, you will receive written and/or video updates as the project progresses, be able to ask questions, and be a vital member of the team.
Missionaries Sonko and Corinne Omondi are raising funds to build a home for their family and for incoming mission teams. When the house is completed, it will have room to host the Omondis and mission teams in up to four rooms. The cost of the work is $83,000, and the project is broken down into four phases.
Phase 1: The first phase includes building a fence around their property, digging a well, and building a guardhouse that doubles as a storage place. | Cost: $20,000
Phase 2: The Foundation will be laid for the house in this phase. | Cost: $8,000
Phase 3: In this phase, the first floor walls will be put up, windows and doors will be installed, and the second floor slab will be put in above the first floor. The Omondis will be able to move into the house after this phase is complete. | Cost: $35,000
Phase 4: The fourth phase will complete the project! In this phase, the second-floor walls will be put up, and the roof, windows, and doors will all be installed. The walls will be coated, the building will be painted, and the trim will be put on the building. The home will also be furnished during this step. | Cost: $20,000
Sonko and Corinne Omondi are the hands and feet of Olalo of Hope- Kenya in rural Oyugis, Kenya.
Some of the things they do include providing monthly food packages for widows, education and medical care for those who can't afford it, and helping with the emergent needs of the most vulnerable in their community.
They also run Oyugis Soccer Academy, a soccer club for kids ages 6-24, where they use soccer to preach the Word, disciple young people, and provide a safe activity for kids.
They also started Dendo Enterprises to create jobs and further impact the local community. Their lifestyle is geared towards ministry, and they engage with those around them by being an active part of the community. They enjoy many deep relationships and love showing the true love, worth, and freedom that comes from knowing Christ.
You can check out the work they do with Olalo of Hope on the Olalo Facebook page or by going to Olalo.org. Feel free to email them about any of their other projects or any questions at theomondis@gmail.com.
We ask you to pray about joining this Virtual Mission trip! There are two ways for you to do that.
First, you can join the team as a prayer partner! Pray that the Lord would strengthen those serving at Olalo of Hope, and pray that this project would lead to further ministry for Jesus.
Second, you can join the team by donating! This is a big project with many financial needs. We are looking to raise $80,000 to cover the cost of the building project.
Once you join the team, you will receive written and/or video updates as the project progresses and be able to ask questions.
