Hello! We are Sonko and Corinne Omondi, and along with our daughters Malia and Adrie, have lived in Oyugis, Kenya, for the past 11 years. We run the Kenyan side of the ministry known as Olalo of Hope. Our mission is to pursue intentional involvement in our community in order to impact people with the love of Christ. We strive to meet the needs around us through relationship, financial help, and most importantly with the great news of the Gospel.
The ministry is growing, but our housing limitations are becoming a roadblock to the ministry. This is why we are starting this fundraising effort for a new mission house.

We are building a new mission house! This mission house will serve as a helpful tool for all of our ministry in Oyugis, Kenya. It will enable us to expand our outreach to the needy in our community, to house visiting mission teams, and to raise our family!

When we reach this milestone, the house will have exterior doors, windows, and frames, as well as first-floor plumbing, electrical, and plastering!
Help us finish the house! For each milestone we hit, the house will fill with color a little more.

Running the Kenyan side of Olalo of Hope, we get to meet many people at their deepest point of need.
Widow Support
We support 33 homes on a monthly basis with a food package that lasts them throughout the month. Most are elderly widows taking care of their grandchildren. A few times a year we are able to supply other basic household needs like mattresses, cooking pots, solar lights etc.… We help the widows with basic needs for their homes while they provide for their grandchildren.
Community Support
We spend a lot of time in the field meeting our community. We help meet their greatest needs, including food, school fees for their children, and providing mattresses and beddings to families who sleep on sticks or newspapers on cold mud floors. We also provide financial support to help community members grow or sustain their businesses, with the goal of helping them to provide for themselves.
Medical Care
Hospital staff in our area identify the most needy and call us with their case. These range from infants abandoned or suffering from malnutrition, to children hit by motorbikes, to adults suffering from disease or work accidents, and even poisonous snake bites. For many people, they have to choose between buying the medicine they need or feeding their family for the day. We are so blessed to financially support those who are in medical need.
Impact of the Mission House
The Mission House will enable us to stay in Oyugis and continue this ministry and will provide a base of operations for our family.

Sonko started Oyugis Soccer Academy in 2008 because he saw an opportunity to speak into the lives of youth and provide them with a safe place to spend their free time instead of getting into trouble. We hold weekly soccer training from ages 8-25, along with a few competitive soccer teams. Every training ends with a Bible study or short message, and mentorship throughout the week.Â
Impact of the Mission House
In the past, we hosted a weekly Bible study at our house, but it quickly became too large for our small space, with kids sitting outside on the porch and filling the compound. Not everyone could participate, and it wasn’t fair to our neighbors.Â
The new mission house will allow us to once again host Bible studies, along with a weekly dinner for the senior soccer team. We pray that sitting together and sharing a meal will open opportunities to talk about the deep things on these young people’s hearts.

We are partnered with the local church in our area to minister to those in our community. Corinne considers it a huge honor to help with the women’s ministry at our local church. The past few years have brought many new Christians and many women who are earnestly seeking to live for Christ and want to honor him in their households and marriages.Â
Impact of the Mission House
We’ve hosted small gatherings in our current home, including cooking classes, baby showers, and intense counseling sessions. Currently, there are no places or venues that can hold these types of events, especially the special times where women can freely share their hearts without other eyes.Â
The church does not have a permanent building yet, so we plan to host these events in the new mission house, which will have enough room to gather in a private place. We pray this will provide women a place to be vulnerable and open without fear or being judged or talked about outside.Â

We love when teams come to serve in Oyugis! We’ve had the privilege to host many teams, such as the GEMPDX team, who come to facilitate eyeglass clinics. The people of our community have been very blessed by these teams!
Impact of the Mission House
Currently, our small home can only hold about 3 other people overnight, so larger teams stay at local hotels. Having the Mission House will allow us to host teams of up to 16 people! This will open the door for more people to come on these trips, as the cost of lodging will be much cheaper for these teams.

We ask you to prayerfully consider partnering with us to build the Omondi Mission House. Your investment is a direct investment in the long-term spiritual and physical health of the Oyugis community. Every dollar helps!
