"Now what is the food for the inner man: not prayer, but the Word of
God: and here again not the simple reading of the Word of God, so that
it only passes through our minds, just as water runs through a pipe, but
considering what we read, pondering over it, and applying it to our
hearts....."
George Mueller

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good"
-Heb 10:22-25

"For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of His Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers, making request if, by some means, now at last I may find a way in the will of God to come to you. For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established; that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me."
-Romans 1:10-12

Inductive Bible Study

The IBS method is incorporated into a small group format with a leader and assistant for each group. The men gather together for worship and then break up into their respective groups to apply study and discuss a particular portion of Scripture. They return during the last half hour of our time for a teaching on that same Scripture passage.

The small group format gives opportunity for each member of the group to share his insights from his work with other group members. The group leader ensures continuity for the group discussion and follows up with each member of the group during the week to give encouragement and help as needed. This creates accountability for each member of the group. The IBS method is the main tool used for the building up and discipling of the men. It reaches the majority of the men and directly ministers to the men at their greatest point of need. It provides our men the opportunity to learn a practical method of studying while also developing discipline and accountability. It has also allowed opportunity to those men with leadership ability to step forward and have their skills developed and refined.

We have refined and tailored the IBS method to best fit our needs here at CCSE the forms and model chapters reflect this. The best of the combined work of the group leaders has been put together to form representative or model chapters. These allow for continuity of teaching and instruction.
