Community Outreach
Our ministry’s purpose is to be used by God to bring more of the lost into his kingdom. As such, God is the leader of our ministry, and we always follow the Holy Spirit’s leading in how we share the gospel. Jesus Christ gave us the vision for evangelism in Matthew 28:17-20:
“All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.”
– Jesus is in charge of his church. We must obey whatever he commands.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.”
– Jesus commands his whole church to start and continue making disciples. We start making disciples of Christ by sharing the gospel with everyone. We continue making disciples by teaching the basics to those who trust in Christ and helping them get integrated into the body of Christ.
“And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
– We evangelize through the power of the Holy Spirit. We do not carry our own message to the world, but we bear witness to the message of God.
The message of God that we share with the world is that “God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16
Below are the different ways that we spread the good news of Jesus Christ. If you would like to serve God in one of these ministries, just call the ministry leader listed. If you would like to serve in some other way, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Jedidiah Smith at 503-914-8302 for any questions.
Greater Gifts Ministries.
This is an Outreach Ministry serving the low income and homeless families in our community. The Greater Gifts Ministries title is based on 1 Cor 12:31 and our purpose is answering the Lords call of Matt 25:35-40. We primarily serve dinner at the Clackamas Service Center (CSC) every Friday night at 6 pm. Volunteers should arrive by 5:30pm to get signed in. "CSC" is the heart of our mission's field and our goal is "no one leaves hungry" both physically and spiritually. So, come ready to give and receive hugs and be totally blessed by the Lord. Part of this ministry is Camp Clean-up Day which is done on Saturdays. This is where we will pick a camp, clean, and haul out the trash. On camp clean up days we bring sack lunches, bibles, and other basic needs to pass out. We also help low/no income families with home, auto, and bike repairs. Currently, we are in need of weekly food donations, please see the table in the church lobby for items needed each week. We also have an on-going need of bibles, blankets, new socks, small tarps, tents, back-packs, ETC. Donations will be picked up every Thursday at the church "Basic Needs".

Visitation Ministry
Calvary Chapel SE’s visitation teams have a heart for meeting new people and for meeting people’s needs. We visit both new and long-term members of the church upon request. We visit new members to give them a warm welcome to our church family. We visit members who need prayer or fellowship. When someone refers us, we visit non-members who don’t know Jesus Christ or who need fellowship. If you or someone close to you would like to receive a visit just to make new friends, to receive prayer, to get involved in the church, or to hear the good news of Jesus Christ, then we’d love to meet you. Simply fill out a Calvary Communication card from the bulletin and drop it in the offering, or call Jedidiah Smith at 503-914-8302.
If you would like to serve, please contact Jedidiah.
Door to Door Evangelism
When weather permits, we go two-by-two to meet people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We go to the homes in our church’s surrounding community. Sometimes we take a religion survey to people, with the purpose of sharing the gospel through the questions. When the church hosts a large event, we take invitations out to the community. Other times, we simply invite our neighbors to worship the God of the universe with us. Whatever we take to the people in our community, we always go with respect, love, and the gospel.
If you are interested in using your gifts in this way, please contact Jedidiah Smith at 503-914-8302.
