PREP: "Portland Released-time Education Program"

PREP4Kids is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian outreach to children attending public schools in the greater-Portland area.   PREP4kid's mission is to help students and their families find purpose and direction in life by using the Bible during legislated released-time religious education classes. PREP offers weekly Bible classes, teaching a Biblical worldview, so kids can get to know the God of the Bible and receive a more well-rounded education. 

Local churches hold PREP4Kids Bible classes for public school students at participating schools. Calvary Chapel Southeast holds a PREP4Kids class for students attending John Wetten Elementary School in Gladstone each Tuesday afternoon from 1:10pm to 2:20pm during the school year.  Only students of this school may attend. We are in the process of starting a program at Linwood Elementary School in Milwaukie on Thursday afternoons.

If your child is enrolled at John Wetten Elementary or Linwood Elementary School

Then your child can attend!  To enroll your child, download a copy of the Parents Permission Slip  from the PREP4Kids website , or call the PREP office at: 503-281-7764. Once in hand, complete the permission slip and and return it to your school's office.  The PREP volunteers from CCSE will be given a copy of the permission slip and, on the day of PREP, escort your child to the Bible class at time listed on the form.  Students are returned to the school at the end of the class by the PREP volunteers.  Parents are welcome to a one time visit their child's PREP4Kids class. 

If your child is not enrolled at either School

Check the PREP4Kids Participating School List to see if your child's school has a Bible class. If not, you can work with PREP4Kids to start one!
